What should I bring to a CHP class?

Your handgun (if you have one), at least 50 rounds of factory ammunition, a sturdy belt and holster, eye and ear protection, layered clothing for Colorado weather, a hat, lunch, and water. Loaner pistols and ammo are available if you don't have your own — let us know in advance.

Do I need to own a gun?

No. Many first-time students don't. We have loaner pistols available and we'll help you pick something that actually fits you before you buy.

Where do classes happen?

Classroom in Pagosa Springs and a local outdoor range. Exact directions go out a day or two before class.

Question 4

How big are classes?

Small. CHP groups are kept small enough for real coaching, and private classes are 1–4 people.

Can I do a private class with my spouse / friend / family?

Yes — that's one of the most popular formats. Two to four people works great.

Not currently. Our focus is the Colorado-qualifying CHP class and ongoing skills training.
